Curly Cut
More and more naturals are wearing their hair curly/coily (wash n’ go). With this change in how people are wearing their hair, there has also been a change in the types of cuts people want.
You have probably heard the term “Deva cut” or “Curly cut”. This is when the hair is cut in its natural curly state (usually the way the client likes to wear it). Deva cut was created by Devachan salon. The hair is cut in the dry state and the emphasis on preserving the curl shape and allowing the curl to rest beautifully when complete. Stylists are training on how to cut the curly at the proper angle to not disrupt the curl and to shape the hair to frame your face.
A curly cut is not a great option if you tend to wear your hair stretched as this cut will likely not be even as it was done while the hair was curly. If you tend to wear your hair straighter, it is probably better to have it cut when it is straight. This is the more traditional way that stylists are trained to cut hair.
The decision on whether a curly cut is right for you depends on how you like to wear your hair.
