Do you ever wonder why there is all this craze over raw hair? As the name implies, this hair has not been processed. Raw hair is great quality hair and can last for years with proper care. The integrity of the hair is maintained because it has been left into in it’s natural state. Raw hair can be expensive to obtain because it is more difficult to collect. Often times the most available raw hair comes from India through the shaving of hair during Temple services. The great thing about raw hair is that it can last a very long time and be reused often. One con is that the color and texture you want may not be available since donor hair usually only comes in two options – straight or wavy and in a very dark color. It can be hard to lift the hair to a very light blonde (level 10).
I don’t mean to say that Virgin hair is not good quality, but you have to be more discerning when purchasing Virgin hair as all are not equal. Some sellers will use a grading system to try to differentiate themselves from others, but I find this difficult to compare between brands as there are not agreed upon standards as to why a certain type of hair got a specific grade. You want to try to buy the best virgin hair that you can.
One very disappointing thing I have seen happen is that some sellers put filler into Virgin hair with synthetic hair or animal hair. This quickly degrades that hair quality and will not last very long. Essentially Virgin hair with fillers is a waste of money. You want to make sure you are getting the best quality you can even if you are on a budget. Virgin hair often comes from multiple donors but should only contain human hair. It has usually been processed in some way with heat, but usually not with chemicals.
Overall, human hair is a great option for hair extensions because it is so versatile. You can do so much with human hair to help it blend with your own hair. The transformation with hair extensions can be incredible. You should be able to color both Raw and Virgin Hair since both have not been treated with chemicals. You can heat style and cut the hair as wanted.
